Our aim in Le Chéile Secondary School, Ballincollig is to ensure that all students fulfil their potential.  In order to ensure that this is achieved, it is crucial that students are encouraged to strive for academic excellence.  Teaching and Learning is at the core of our ethos where varied and engaging teaching methodologies are used to ensure that all students, regardless of ability or learning styles, are enabled to maximise their success.  Students are monitored through classroom work, homework, informal assessment and formal assessment.

Academic Mentor:

Students are assigned a teacher who will mentor them on a one-to-one basis. This teacher provides help, support and advice with regard to homework, study and exam preparation. They are ready to help students with any challenges they might be facing. This support also helps build a bond of trust between students and teachers.

Team Teaching:

We are fortunate to be able to make the provision for team teaching in our classes. It allows for a much greater level of support for all students. Team teaching has led to variety in instruction, creativity and spontaneity in lessons, and opportunities for enrichment and differentiation at all levels of academic ability.
