Leader of Student Welfare (Junior Year Head) and Digital Learning

Aoife qualified as a Geography, Business and Economics teacher with a Bachelor of Arts from University College Cork followed by Professional Masters of Education (PME). She has a Postgraduate Diploma in School Leadership through the University of Limerick. She spent her first year teaching in Australia where she gained vast experience and knowledge of different education systems. She brought this knowledge and experience home in 2017 and took up her first Irish teaching position in Doon, Co. Limerick. She moved back to Cork in 2018 and secured a job in Presentation Secondary School, Ballyphehane where she remained for 3 years. At Presentation Secondary School, Ballyphehane Aoife also took on the roles of LCA coordinator and 5th year Year Head. In 2021 Aoife commenced at Le Chéile Secondary School, Ballincollig. Aoife has a very keen interest in Sport, with a particular interest in camogie and football, being an active member of Cloughduv Camogie club and St. Vals football club.

As the Leader of Student Welfare for the Junior Year group, Aoife oversees and nurtures the wellbeing and personal development of students. Aoife is responsible for their attendance, behaviour, and academic application, promoting a culture of improvement, collaboration, and commitment to success. Some of Aoife’s key duties include supporting the SPHE/Wellbeing programmes, encouraging students to reflect on their learning progress, and maintaining regular communication with students, staff, and parents. Aoife provides crucial support to subject teachers, and facilitates co-curricular activities. Leading a team, Aoife aims to empower colleagues to take on leadership roles and guide students toward holistic development within our school community.

Aoife’s role as digital leader involves the integration of ICT in learning, teaching, and assessment, managing and executing the school's Digital Strategy. Aoife supports and guides teachers in using technology effectively, fostering engaging and challenging teaching methods, and promoting innovation and creativity through digital tools. Aoife leads the digital team in recognising individual and collective achievements, steering the school towards excellence in digital education.

Leader of Public Relations and Communications and Pre-Examinations Secretary

Adam is a graduate of the BA (Hons) Art and Design Education (N.C.A.D), PG Cert in 21st Century Teaching and Learning (TCD), H.Dip in Theological Studies (SPCM) and has a Postgraduate Diploma in School Leadership through UL. His previous teaching and class tutor experience include Loreto Abbey Dalkey, Dublin and Lea Manor High School, Luton, UK. Previous posts held include Head of Department, Digital Devices Coordinator and TY Work Experience Coordinator. Adam also worked as a part time Art Associate with the PDST offering CPD to second level Art teachers on the updated LC Art Specification in recent years and he is currently a Practical Art examiner of Leaving Certificate with the State Examinations Commission. Adam has a keen interest in all things creative and is the designer of our Le Chéile Chronicle, which is published twice yearly.

Adam brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his role at Le Chéile Secondary School, Ballincollig. As the Leader of Public Relations and Communications, Adam builds relationships, influences opinions, and manages the school's reputation alongside his team. He is committed to promoting the profile of Le Chéile both internally and externally, fostering connections with parents and the broader community. Adam is aware of the ever-changing landscape of media and social media, ensuring that the school’s communications remain effective and up-to-date. His team is responsible for developing and implementing a clear communications policy, which helps cultivate a positive school climate characterised by respectful interactions.

In his role as Pre-Examinations Secretary, Adam oversees the smooth operation of the Pre-Junior Certificate examinations. He is committed to maintaining an orderly, secure, and fair testing environment. He has developed robust communication systems to support all staff and students during the examination process. Adam manages the examination budget and supervision schedules and coordinates with examination companies ensuring the integrity and efficiency of the examinations.
